Sinónimo: Hematoma epidural postoperatorio
El hematoma epidural agudo espontáneo no-traumático es raro.
Se ha descrito tras cirugía de la epilepsia (Clusmann 2004).
Tras la retirada del catéter epidural en un paciente parapléjico (Eipe 2009).
Tras intervenciones infratentoriales (Harders 1985).
Cirugía Bypass STA-MCA (Ohata 2008).
Aneurismas y MAV (Rice 1990; Yuki 1990).
Drenaje de higroma subdural. El mecanismo de formación a distancia de la craniotomía en la fase postoperatoria no está clara (Paiva 2010).
Clínica
Los síntomas, son a menudo similares a los de la isquemia cerebral postoperatoria, y pueden causar confusión en la toma de decisiones clínicas.
