Es un micro arn y se formula la hipótesis de que es un supresor tumoral.

Su expresión está disminuida en los meningiomas atípicos y anaplásicos (Kliese y col., 2012) así como los gliomas influyendo en el factor de crecimiento de tejido conectivo (Lee y col., 2013).
